Crowns, Bridges & Dentures

It is hard to be confident when your smile is in ruins. Broken teeth or a few missing teeth or altogether having no teeth at all may make you very self-conscious and prevent you from being your natural self. The good news is that present day modern dentistry has a solution for all of these and helps you to regain that lost smile on your face.

When a significant amount of tooth has been lost from decay or injury and still worth saving, a crown may be the best option. They fortify and restore damaged teeth allowing them to function normally and looks completely like your natural teeth. We shape your tooth, make an impression and send it to the dental laboratory, where highly skilled technicians will create a crown with ceramic, metal or a combination of both, that looks great and function perfectly with your bite. It usually takes about 5 days to make your crown. In the meantime the tooth is protected with a temporary crown. When the crown is ready, the temporary crown is removed and the permanent crown is either cemented or bonded onto the tooth.

When the tooth is beyond repair or missing you have excellent good options. An implant followed by a crown is considered to be the best solution. Your next best option is a Three-unit fixed bridge using natural teeth on either side of the gap. These teeth are crowned and used to support another solid tooth in between bridging the gap between the teeth just like a bridge across a river. Longer bridges are prepared to bridge the gaps when multiple teeth are missing.

When the neighboring teeth on either side of the missing teeth are not firm or too less a number to support a longer bridge, removable partial dentures are the only solution. When teeth are altogether missing complete dentures help you chew your food well and retain the facial form. Many a times, the lower denture may not be as secure as you may need them to be, due to inadequate support. In such situations, overdentures are made where 2 or more implants support and secure the denture. Implant supported overdentures are now, the new standard of care.

At Smile Station, crowns, bridges and dentures can be made with multiple materials. They all differ in appearance, costs and durability. Many of them are made by international companies, use digital technology and have warrantees on their products. They are just the same as would be made in any other developed country like the US or Germany, but come at a fraction of that cost.

Your crown, bridge work and dentures should feel comfortable and look natural. They require the some care to minimize plaque buildup and keep your smile looking great for years to come.
